Plumbin'

Chris and Al were hard at work for a lot of the day working on the plumbing in the house! When I got there, they were messing with the washing machine hookups to the left there. Down below is Chris's excellent handy-work with the copper plumbing (which didn't leak!) and while I was down there I took a snap of the almighty electrical box of power and mystery... It just so happens that when everything is done and good to go, there are actually 29 (Yes, 29...) breakers! lol

Seriously, who likes chain-linked fences?

The front yard is looking nice! All of the fencing and old trees that were growing up into it is gone. Before & after!

INTERNETSSSS!!!

This room is all done! Chris got the entire house wired up ready for the server in here too!

Cords all through the house (that big bunch is the main strip for the server) and there's a really awesome ethernet outlet that he put in too! Schwing!

Walls and Ceilings!

Chris got the slanted ceiling painted today along with re-patching the main white wall and throwing a nice coat of paint over it. It's looking great!

Kitchen Work

The kitchen walls are coming along. I patched/sanded, then painted the walls white, but there were still some spots needing attention, so today Chris re-patched so we can sand some of the spots down again. It's gonna be nice once the yellow is in too.

Spiral Stairs!

They're gonna be saaaweeeeeeeet! I found them on Craigslist, and look, they come with a British, hand-crafted, holder so that they stay up straight! =D

OUTLETS!

Chris changed all the outlets! They look so nice now that the trim is on it's way to being done throughout the whole house!

Just thought I'd take a moment to point out the yellow-car parade.

STAIRS GONE!!!

Chris beat the crap out of the stairs today and somehow got them down, then got rid of all the pieces. It was like magic, I swear. Can't wait for the spiral stairs!

DOORS!

I like the one that's more square, but Chris and Al like the oval one, so the final door will probably be more like the oval one with the decorative glass.

And we can't forget... while Al and I were looking at doors, Chris was still happily painting away like an elderly woman in a sweat shop.

Bathroom Shenanigans

Al started pounding out the tile and walls around the tub. Gotta get that out so that the new shower can go in. (Handicapped shower - Al says it's for when Chris retires) Speaking of Chris, let's play where's Waldo and figure out what he's doing.. oh, painting that hole that was patched. :P

Plumbing isn't my forte`, so luckily there's Al for that. He even got the toilet working today I think. So, we're trying to get this tub out right? Well, Al decided we'd just cut it in half.. which didn't end up working.

But we did get the tub out after all.

*Notice the pic of the tub on the left; that's a massive hair-ball hanging out of the tub drain pipe! GROSS! I chased Nay around with it. hehe

Paint Paint/Pant Pant

Painting started! Color for the main walls is Behr "Brown Rabbit" and the trim is all going to be white. Had to use sandpaper to sand all of the trim down though to get the finish of of it so that the paint will stick! Ugh!

As you can see, Chris hard at work painting all of the trim! I helped too, I just couldn't take any pictures of myself doing it! haha
It's definitely coming along nicely! Wasn't so sure about the color at first since it didn't match the swatch originally, but it does look nice.

The kitchen wood paneling met it's doom...

As you can see, I ripped out all of the wood paneling in the kitchen and pulled up all of the trim. The plan in here, is to have white walls up to about where the paneling was, then up from there will be a light yellow! Nice and bright!

Interior: Pre-Pretty

Okay, well here's a shot of the living room before anything was done with it. Those curtains there.. yeah, they turned into drop-cloths for painting.

Here's a view from in the kitchen going into the living room. The fridge is going to be there on the left in that empty space, and that damn wood tiling has got to go.

Here's directly across from the doorway of the kitchen to the living room. I really like the sliding glass doors and that little window on the left that go out to the sun-room! I can't wait to fill it with plants!

In the living room, here are the ugly stairs that go up into the loft area. These of course, are going to have to go soon too. The doorway on the right goes into the kitchen, and that doorway under/behind the stairs goes to the back room where the computers will be. The doorway to the back room is eventually going to be expanded more to the left and a set of double-doors put in, and the stairway replaced with a spiral staircase (which is going to be frikkin' AWESOOOME!).

The loft area! Going to have to paint over the paneling up here because there isn't really a wall behind it. Walls up here going to be all white, and the ceiling will be a really light lavender color.

And last, but certainly not least (however, it is the least amount of space of ANY of the rooms in the house), is the bathroom. This tiny closet is getting completely re-done. As you can see, you can't even really see it because there wasn't enough room for me to fit in there and still take a picture of it! lol

Spring in Bloom

Thought that I'd take some pictures of the pretty trees and what-not before they're all gone. The Magnolia tree (is that right?) is about done for the season already. Sucks that they only stay beautiful like that for a few weeks.
